Christopher S. Norman Partner Once named a Super Lawyers - Rising Star in the medical malpractice defense world, Chris turned his talent to representing victims of medical malpractice over a decade ago, using the inside knowledge that he gained as a defense attorney to provide a competitive edge to his current clients. Since turning his expertise to representing injured patients, Chris has been personally responsible for securing well over $100,000,000 in verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients, including a number of individual cases exceeding $10,000,000. Chris attention to detail and tenacious attitude toward representing his injured clients have translated into a remarkable track record of success, including having never failed to bring a case to a positive resolution that he has had primary responsibility for from its inception. Although Chris represents victims in all types of catastrophic medical malpractice cases, he has developed particular expertise representing children who have developed brain injuries as a result of obstetrical and neonatal malpractice. In recognition of Chris talent for representing brain-injured children, he has been called upon to represent children in birth injury cases across the country, including, but not limited to, cases in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Missouri, Georgia, New Jersey, Alabama, and elsewhere, including a number of Federal Courts. Chris has been honored by numerous organizations for his work, including being named to the prestigious Maryland State Bar Association/Daily Records Leaders in Law list for 2024, and as a Super Lawyers - Rising Star for the first time in 2013 and every year since 2015. In addition to other awards, Chris has been named one of Americas top 100 high-stakes litigators and was honored with the Clients Choice Award from AAVO, highlighting not just his legal prowess but also his dedication, care, and compassion for his clients. Chris has consistently attained Martindale-Hubbells most coveted AV-Preeminent rating, which signifies that the lawyers peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills, and ethical standards. In addition to representing victims of malpractice, Chris is deeply involved in the Maryland Plaintiffs Bar. He has served on the Board of Governors for the Maryland Association for Justice (MAJ) (an organization that represents over 1,200 trial attorneys throughout the state of Maryland and advocates for the preservation of the civil justice system, the protection of the rights of consumers, and the education and professional development of its members) for over a decade. Chris is also an active member of the MAJs Legislative Committee, testifying in the Maryland General Assembly on proposed legislation that impacts the rights of the injured, and is a member of the MAJs Political Action Committee. Chris is also the MAJs Parliamentarian-Elect, the first step in the ladder to becoming the President of the Maryland Association for Justice. Chris graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he served as the Senior Staff Editor on the Intellectual Property Law Journal. Chris also served as a Clerk for the Maryland Court of Appeals Standing Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure and had his writing published in a Law journal. Chris also has a B. A. degree in Philosophy and Political Science from Salisbury University, where he was a member of the Bellevance Honors Program, was inducted into the Phi Sigma Tau and Phi Eta Sigma National Honors Societies and served as a Legislative Aide in the Maryland House of Delegates. Chris has an intensely competitive spirit, having competed in everything from motorcycle racing to fishing tournaments to wrestling, and flew solo in his first airplane before graduating high school. Needless to say, Chris is excited by challenges and brings his competitive edge and desire to win to every case he handles. Chris lives in Monkton, Maryland, with his wife, Jackie, and his two children. He is an active member of his community, coaching local sports teams and giving back in every way that he can.
