Clair S. Diane

Diane Clair was born and raised in Atlanta’s Collier Heights and Adamsville neighborhoods by a single mother. She relocated to College Park in high school. She participated in the minority-to-majority program in Fulton County, which bused children to Roswell High School, a better-funded school system in north Fulton. Following high school, she attended Bethune-Cookman College for two years and later returned to Atlanta. Subsequently, she enrolled at Georgia State University, earning her bachelor’s degree in political science in 2009. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she moved to New York City and worked in the non-profit sector for two years. Diane Clair then pursued her legal education at Florida A&M University College of Law in Orlando, FL, obtaining her Juris Doctor degree in 2015. With nearly a decade of legal practice, she is the proprietor of The Clair Firm, LLC, where she assists clients in various legal domains, including Real Estate matters, estate planning, probate, business, and contract issues. Diane lives in District 60 on the Upper West Side with her 3-year-old son, Miykael. Raised by a single mom, has given Clair direct interest in ensuring that her son and all children in Georgia can grow up in a secure community with the best possible schools. As a native of the district, she is well-acquainted with the needs of the citizens in metro Atlanta and the State of Georgia. Georgia currently ranks as the 4th highest among the 50 states in gun violence, holds the 43rd position in maternal mortality rates, and is placed 31st in K-12 education. It is puzzling why the State of Georgia does not rank higher as a safe, affordable, and family-friendly place to live and work. There are practical steps we can take to improve these statistics and elevate Georgia to be one of the best states in the country. However, achieving this requires genuine leadership at the legislative level, with innovative ideas and a contemporary understanding of the issues that most significantly impact the people.
