Meet Michael G. McDonough Michael G. McDonough Managing Partner Add Me to Your Address Book About Michael Michael G. McDonough serves in the role of Managing Partner at Egan, Flanagan, and Cohen, P. C. An experienced trial lawyer, Michael represents businesses, non-profits, and, at times, individuals. He has extensive experience in negotiating complex settlements in mediations. However, at his heart, Michael is a trial lawyer and a proven winner given his record before juries, judges and appellate panels in the Superior Court and U. S. District Court, Massachusetts Appeals Court and U. S. First Circuit Court of Appeals, and in the Supreme Judicial Court. Michael is an excellent resource to anyone at the helm of a business or non-profit organization. He has guided many Massachusetts businesses and non-profits through lawsuits (both in defense and in pursuing affirmative claims), as well as in the areas of employment law, contract disputes, government compliance, negotiating collective bargaining agreements, and other large transactional or litigation matters. These clients include automobile dealerships, construction companies, religious organizations of different denominations, restaurants, grocery stores, healthcare providers, womens advocacy groups and treatment facilities or shelters, health and fitness centers, governmental entities, and Veterans organizations, among many other types of business and non-profit clients. In the context of business litigation, Michael and Jack Egan changed Massachusetts law when they prevailed in a two-week trial in 2018. Their favorable jury verdict was appealed to the Supreme Judicial Court, which upheld the verdict in their clients favor. The decision, H1 Lincoln, Inc. v. South Washington Street, LLC, 489 Mass. 1 (2022), strengthened Massachusetts law under G. L. c. 93 A, Section 11 to protect businesses from being taken advantage of by extortionate and otherwise unfair and deceptive practices of other companies. Michael also takes select cases on behalf of individuals whose rights, liberties, employment, or life have been put at risk by the imprudent acts of others. These include suits to redress or seek recompense for unfair or deceptive business practices, discrimination, grievous bodily injuries, and wrongful death. Last, Michael is a U. S. Army Veteran, having served on Active Duty at home and overseas, including many notable court-martial victories around the globe during his time as a Judge Advocate. He continues to serve in the Army Reserve in the rank of Major. Drawing on his leadership as a U. S.
