Philip M. Taylor

NEWSROOM Experience Philip M. Taylor is an Associate in the Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group and focuses on commercial litigation and intellectual property matters. He is a trial lawyer whose practice includes all aspects of litigation from motion practice and discovery through trial and appeals. He represents clients in matters involving contractual and licensing disputes, intellectual property rights and infringement, partnership and shareholder disputes, real estate and land use disputes, antitrust claims, and complex frauds. His practice also includes contested trusts and estates proceedings. Representative Matters Represented one of the worlds leading patent pool administrators in a number of complex royalty licensing and accounting disputes arising out of the global licensing by the client of various technologies to multinational companies for use in connection with the manufacture and sale of an assortment of consumer electronics products. Represented a large, multinational consumer electronics company in connection with litigation challenging its variance approvals to construct a new North American headquarters. Represented a Northern New Jersey hospital in connection with its claims that a competitor was infringing its trademarks, obtaining injunctive relief after a favorable verdict at trial. Represented beneficiaries in negotiating the distribution and termination of family trusts by a corporate trustee and in related New York Surrogates Court proceedings. Phil previously served as law clerk to the Honorable Kenneth J. Slomienski, New Jersey Superior Court, Law Division, Bergen County. While at Fordham University School of Law, he served as an Associate Editor of the Fordham International Law Journal and was also the recipient of the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award. He is also a graduate of the Justice Morris Pashman American Inn of Court. Phil is a member of the Litigation Committee of the New York City Bar Association and the Historical Society of the New York Courts.
